Winona Ryder at 16 got strife at school due to Beetlejuice character
How many people did you know at school when you were 16 had starred in a major motion picture? Well most people had known fellow 16 year old’s that had starred in a major motion picture they’d of probably at least been envious, however it sounds like Winona Ryder had more of the jealous highschooler reaction experience.
Winona recently told New York magazine that her early 16 year old acting stardom in the film Beetlejuice ‘didn’t help my high school experience. In fact it made it worse. I was a freak and a witch. Winona then went on to describe her local fellow classmates at the time ‘hicks who were also stoners.’
Winona Ryders (now 44) recent projects include the Netflix original show Stranger Things, a somewhat of an X-Files style sci-fi movie based in the 1980’s about psychokinetic powers and interdimensional beings. Ryder is also of course set to star in the upcoming sequel to Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice 2.
