The Chemical Brothers & The Pixies finish day one of NOS Alive Festival 2016
Alt rock veterans The Pixies, and electronic music veterans The Chemical Brothers finished day one of the NOS Alive Festival 2016 July 7th. While the two music acts were pretty much completely different in terms of style, it meshed well from set to set. Robert Plant and The Sensation Space Shifters took the stage just prior to The Pixies, amidst the “Stairway To Heaven” copyright infringement controversy that’s going on right now.
Radiohead headlines tonight’s July 8th show, then Arcade Fire for the July 9th show finale. NOS Alive (formerly Optimus Alive!) is a music and arts festival which takes place in the Algés riverside, in Oeiras, Portugal. The first edition took place in 2007. Despite its recent creation, the festival has achieved considerable popularity both inside and outside of Portugal, with the UK magazine NME placing in one of the top 12 European festivals in 2009.
In 2012, NME.com’s readers rated the festival 10 out of 10. It is organized by the Everything Is New and its main sponsor is NOS (previously named Optimus).
