Jonah Hill joins the efforts for official movie franchise mash-ups
Jonah Hill told BBC Radio recently that his idea to conjoin the 21 Jump Street franchise with the Men In Black franchise, was in fact validly his idea. This would be yet another movie mashup idea that is now out in the ether, although really one of the only one’s confirmed to be that of one of the stars of either franchise of the mashup.
A fan follower of Fast 8 star Tyrese Gibson (who’m he’s re-grammed) by the twitter handle of @bosslogic has also suggested a mashup of The Fast And The Furious franchise and the Transformer franchise (something that kinda at least makes more sense although).
“I had the idea“, Jonah Hill recently revealed to BBC Radio in regards to the 21 Jump Street and Men In Black movie mashup, “But I doubt that movie will get made. They’re trying to make all the deals, but it’s kind of impossible with all the Men in Black stuff. The Jump Street films were so fun to make and the whole joke of them was they were making fun of remakes and sequels and reboots and then now it’s become a giant sequel, reboot. It’s almost become what we were making fun of and it’s hard to maintain that joke when it’s so high stakes.”
Jonah Hill’s most recent movie is however of course War Dogs, although it isn’t a mashup of the movie Snow Dogs and Star Wars. War Dogs (previously known as Arms and the Dudes) is a 2016 American biographical crime war comedy film directed by Todd Phillips and written by Phillips, Jason Smilovic and Stephen Chin, based on a Rolling Stone article by Guy Lawson.
Lawson then wrote a book titled Arms and the Dudes detailing the story. The film follows two arms dealers, David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli, who get a government contract to supply weapons for U.S. troops in Afghanistan. The film stars Jonah Hill, Miles Teller, Ana de Armas, J. B. Blanc and Bradley Cooper. Filming began on March 2, 2015 in Romania. The film premiered in New York City on August 3, 2016 and is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures on August 19, 2016.
